There is nothing, absolutely nothing half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.

NENUPHAR
TOWNHOUSE IN MARSEILLAN ON ETANG DE THAU
Nenuphar is a two storey townhouse in the centre of the old town of Marseillan, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms sleeping 5 people.
The house is surprisingly large when you enter it and has many interesting old historic features. The curved back wall of the house is 800 years old being a part of the old city wall built with different thicknesses providing a shelf in one bedroom. The house has been completely remodelled inside to enable the construction of a mezzanine at the top of the house creating a third floor opening onto a roof terrace with a stunning view of the tiled roofs and church. The house has specially finished lime walls and many original decorative features.
Ground floor. The front door and sliding garage door open into a large interior space for your car plus a laundry area with washing machine and sink. A private garage is a real plus in summer in Marseillan. The stairwell at the back gives access to the upper floors.
First floor. On this floor are two large bedrooms with double beds and the option of a third separate space in one of them with sliding Japanese doors providing a third bedroom with a large single (old-fashioned French double measuring 1.2 metres wide) bed. One bathroom has a WC and a bath / shower, the other a WC and a large shower. There is a lounge area with an extra double sofa bed if needed.
The controls for the air-conditioning / heating system are on this floor ensuring that the bedrooms are cool and comfortable in the hottest part of the summer. There is also a music system with radio, CD and tapes if you wish to bring your own favourites. One of the bathrooms has tadelakt walls and this lime finish is also used elsewhere in the bedrooms.
Second floor. This is the level where all of our guests spend most of their time. The exposed stone curved back wall sets of the wide space housing the kitchen, the dining area and the living room with french windows opening onto the roof terrace. The terrace table and chairs for six, a barbecue and a fountain. Sunset drinks overlooking the village rooftops is a must.
The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric vitro-ceramic hob top, microwave and a dishwasher. There is a wood stove for extra heating and atmosphere for winter lets.
